My interest in photography dates back to the 1960s when as a graduate student at the University of Arizona I built my own darkroom and experimented with black and white images using 35 mm & 2 1/4" film formats. I am a biologist and retired (2004) college professor. Toward the end of my career, the digital revolution rekindled my interest in photography with the computer replacing the darkroom. I became interested in microphotography and made many digital images of biological specimens for teaching/research purposes. This was back when a 3 megapixel Nikon camera was state of the art! That was a magical 4th of July over the harbor. Paul Allen of Microsoft has a home on Lopez Island and contributed to funding the fireworks display. It was spectacular for such a small community. The time exposure varied with each shot which can be seen in the degree of blurr among the boats shifting on the water. Thanks for the kind comments Randall & Raymond.
